Wilam Tarris is thrilled to return to A Public Fit Theatre Company this season after his previous performances in True West, Dancing at Lughnasa, and Indecent.
Wilam has performed with many theatres, including Chicago Shakespeare Theater, Goodman Theatre, and New York Theatre Workshop, and has had the great pleasure of working with directors Kimberly Senior, Kate Whoriskey, Ron West, and Adam Hunter. He originated the role of Ralph, the drummer for Daisy Cutter, in Dee Snider’s Rock & Roll Christmas Tale, which debuted at Broadway Playhouse as part of Broadway in Chicago and featured the cast performing the music live onstage. Wilam has also appeared in film and television, including The Half-Life of Mason Lake, Skimmers, and NBC’s Chicago Fire. He spent eight years as the drummer for the indie rock band Nature Show.
Wilam is also a screenwriter and playwright. His historical drama The Weight of Dust advanced to the second round of the 2026 Austin Film Festival Screenplay Competition, and his TV pilot Baggage Claim was featured on The Black List’s Top Lists in the half-hour dramatic comedy genre. His writing can be found at wilamtarris.com.
A proud graduate of Northwestern University and The Theatre School at DePaul University, Wilam is also an alumnus of New York City’s prestigious High School of Performing Arts.
