Nadya Grandison moved from Detroit, Michigan to Las Vegas, Nevada six years ago. Her high school experience with show choir required her to design her own costumes for each performance, growing her passion for designing and leading her to pursue her costuming career! She’s currently a student at UNLV and will be graduating this summer with a bachelor’s degree in theatre arts with an emphasis in costume design. She received certification from participating in UNLV’s Fashion Certificate Program. While obtaining her certification, she organized a fashion show with her classmates to showcase their designs and garments created from scratch during their time in class and presented them to a local audience here in Las Vegas! With her prior experience with A Public Fit as a wardrobe assistant on productions like X and The Minutes, she’s eager to apply more of her skills! Nadya has also participated in wardrobe assistance for short films with costume design MFA students as well as working with the Judy Bayley Theatre for the production of Midsummer Night’s Dream. Nadya sews in her free time, personalizing and altering bridal gowns. She enjoys exploring her costuming knowledge further by traveling to fashion destinations, examining textiles and fabrication. She’s honored to officially begin her costume designing career with A Public Fit Theatre Company!
