James Claflin received his BA in theatre/cinematic arts (acting emphasis) from BYU. He pursued an MA/PhD in theatre directing at the University of Kansas before opting for law school. Now a local trial attorney (family law), James has professional acting credits on stage and screen. Having played roles in professional and community stage productions here in Las Vegas at A Public Fit Theatre Company, Super Summer Theatre, Las Vegas Little Theatre, and Signature Productions, James returns to A Public Fit in Native Gardens. Other local stage credits include Something Rotten! (Brother Jeremiah), You Can’t Take It With You (Paul Sycamore), Annie (Warbucks), A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Senex); Scarlet Pimpernel (Sir Ozzy); Oliver! (Bill Sikes); Guys & Dolls (Nathan Detroit); Camelot (King Arthur), and Mary Poppins (George Banks).
