
Ashlee Grubbs gained critical acclaim for her role of Maura on Hulu’s Emmy-nominated comedy Pen15, for which she appeared in such publications as Rolling Stone magazine, Entertainment Weekly, and BuzzFeed. Ashlee’s additional screen appearances include: Disney channel’s “Mack Chat” for the Andy Mack show; guest artist roles on CBS’s SWAT and NBC’s Quantum Leap; a lead role in the movie The Radiant One; commercials; short films; and new media shows including Precious Plum by the creators from CollegeHumor.
Ashlee began her career locally at the age of 9 with Troy Heard. Over the years, she has appeared in his Scientology Parody, Titus Andronicus Jr. (which gained Top 5 at Hollywood Fringe Festival), and as Clara in The Sandman written by Tony winners Richard Oberacker and Robert Taylor. Ashlee has also performed locally in: NCT’s productions of A Christmas Carol and Macbeth; CSN’s production of Pillowman; A Midsummer Night’s Dream at SST; and the lead role of Eva in Kindertransport. Ashlee created the role of Colin in the New Musical Dublin Rising, which is now finding its feet in New York. She is currently a singing gondolier at the Venetian and was part of the original cast at the Las Vegas Production of Battlebotts – Destruct-A-Thon. Most recently Ashlee created the role of Kristin in The House on Watch Hill at VTC, again written by Oberacker and Taylor and directed by Daz Weller. She is delighted to be working with a Public Fit a second time following her performance in Dancing at Lughnasa as Rose. Ashlee hopes to continue working in theatre, TV, and movies and will soon appear as Gretel in her first Opera, Hansel and Gretel for Opera A La Mode in Los Angeles.
