Winner of the 2026 Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Bess Wohl’s Liberation is a poignant, insightful and surprisingly funny examination of the promises (and failures!) of the women’s liberation movement across generations. Centered on a group of women gathering to question their identities, ambitions, families and freedoms, Liberation is both intimate and expansive, weaving together the past and present, the dead and the living in a clear-eyed reflection about resilience, sisterhood and the unending pursuit of self-determination.
